Other Libraries and Interlibrary Loans
Other Libraries & Interlibrary Loans
If you need research material that we don’t have, you can request it through Interlibrary Loan. We will borrow it from another library for you. Some of our main lending libraries are listed below.
For ²ÝÁñÉçÇø students, staff or community: find out more here about our Interlibrary Loan Service. You can request items in several different ways:
- Fill out a ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Interlibrary Loan Form
- Search our online databases and click on “Request an Interlibrary Loan” when there is no full-text available. A form will pop up, enter your contact details
- Make a request for books or media using the BC Union Catalogues link below
We will contact you when the item is available. Delivery is normally 2-5 business days for articles/chapters, and 7-14 business days for books/other physical items. Books are checked out to your account upon arrival and generally due back in 3 weeks; some lender libraries allow renewals. Charges may apply in some cases. If we are unable to provide your request, we will contact you.
Please note: when requesting electronic copies (journal articles or book chapters), the following copyright rules apply. Full e-books generally cannot be requested through Interlibrary Loan, due to licensing restrictions from most publishers. If you request a book through Interlibrary Loan, we will bring in a print version. (If there is no print version available to borrow, we will contact you).
For other libraries looking to request items from the ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Library, please see our ILL policy sheet. Requests from other libraries can be sent directly through BC ELN Illume (SHAREit) system, or to our email address cnclibrary@cnc.bc.ca if outside of BC ELN.
