Meet the Nahoonai-a Elder

"I am Theresa Genevieve Pierre and was born and raised in Fort St. James. My parents were Thomas and Evalie Murdock. I am from the Lhts’umusyoo (Beaver) clan. I married into Tlazt’en First Nation where I made my home. I took the Culinary Arts Program at the Fort St James Campus in 2010 where I got my Culinary Arts Diploma. After that, I have worked off and on for ²ÝÁñÉçÇø College as an Elder and at the Key Adult Drop-In Centre. I have also had the opportunity to work with Nak’azdli First Nation in their Natural Resource Program. I have catered for my community, Tlazt’en, for small and large events and meetings. In my free time I love to travel anywhere and everywhere. I have been with Nahoonai-a since October 2021, supporting ²ÝÁñÉçÇø students. I have knowledge of many First Nations crafts and stories that I share with the ²ÝÁñÉçÇø community."
